What is P2P?
It's a direct connection between two PCs, without using a server. One player is the host, the other one client. Advantage: Less delay and better pings. [Click here for tutorial...]
How does that work?
First of all switch to "P2P client" in the startup menu. Then click on "Play Amiga SWOS". Then you'll see the good old Winuae window. Launch kaillera as usual. Then click on "Change mode" and switch to "1. P2P". If you're the host then mark "SWOS @ SensibleSoccer.de v1.02" and click the button. Your opponent connects to your IP which you should give him before. You can ask for your own IP with the button "whatsmyip". The client uses "Connect" instead of "host". There he just enters the IP from his opponent. After both players have ticked "click here when ready" the game will start.
Attention:
To use the P2P-client you have to forward the port 27886! Inside the router's menu as well as in your windows firewall, in case it doesn't work.
There is a survey about the Top 100 Amiga Games of all time. I think we should give SWOS 96/97 a win in this competition by voting for it!
You will be asked during the survey to select your personal Top 10 Amiga games from a list of over 300 games (SWOS 96/97 is in that list). Each person's Top 10 will then be combined to decide the final Top 100 games list, which will be published once the survey is concluded.
"Due to the total number of games released for the Amiga over the years, we decided it would not be possible to include them all. Instead, using a selection process, we picked the most popular and best games released for the Amiga to offer a choice of 300 games for you to pick from. We hope all of your favourites are included, and apologise if we have missed any out."
Notes:
You have to register to take part in this survey, and will be emailed a unique access url to take part once you have. Your registration details will not be used for anything other than this survey, as the registration is only to ensure that each person taking part only submits their game choices once.
ISSA XX took place in Copenhagen on 30th of January 2010. It was fun and a lot of cool games as always there. Rasmus won this event of 20 players in a good performance, but not with white vest ;).
Rasmus took revenge on ElMichaJ (3rd place) and won the final by against Peter dramatic replay matches. Just take a look at the results. I love to be there ;)
Saturday night yet another amiga offline tournament was played in Aalborg, hosted by djowGer. Lindholm was unable to defend his title, as he lost 0-2 & 0-2 in the final vs djowGer. Klaris took home the bronze medal vs Hannes after 5-2 & 4-1.
And you thought it might never come. Yes it is here. Say awesome, the goal of the year competition 2009 just started and it is in town for 30 days.
The favourite goals of each month we held the competition, up to September, have been gathered and put into a poll about which one should be the king of kings.
Get yourself up to that magic place and post your vote!
AndYpsilon is the winner of the Eifel-X-Mas-Cup 2009 and has thus recaptured the trophy from titleholder Schulle. In the reissue of last
year's final AndYpsilon succeeded with 3-0 and 1-0 in the final matches. Meanwhile, Paider and Klinki fought an epic battle in the match for
third place. Paider won the first leg 3-1 but Klinki struck back: 4-2 was the score of the second leg. In the all-dominant replay Paider was
successful with a 3-2-victory after extra-time.
In spite of snow, ice and Siberian temperatures an enjoyable group of nine players gathered in the youth club in Sistig. Not only the Eifel-Crew-members Bueb, Kindelooney, Maerte and SWOS-Hool participated but also Reetz-SWOS-veteran Craizinho launched his comeback.
After some intense games in SWOS UP YOUR LIFE 2, it was Lindholm who was victorious in the end, defeating Hannes in the final by 1-1 and 2-1.
It was Lindholms first "official" tournament win, so congrats to him.
In the game for the 3rd place, djowGer won against Stecher also by 1 goal difference 2-1 & 3-3.
It was nice to see some old faces return to swos scene after a longer break, players like MacTrigger, Stecher and Skurken. But of course thx to all particpants and winners.
